Sarah Healy
Exercise Physiologist
About me
Sarah Healy is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with over 20 years of experience, currently practising at Geelong Sports Medicine Centre in North Geelong, Victoria. She specialises in helping people move more freely and confidently after injury, surgery, chronic pain, or periods of inactivity.
Sarah graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) and completed postgraduate study in Exercise for Rehabilitation. She has worked continuously in health and wellness since qualifying, with extensive experience in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, chronic health management, and active ageing.
Her background as a competitive gymnast and track cyclist, combined with her own experiences of injury and pain, has shaped her empathetic and practical approach to rehabilitation.
Sarah's practice is centred on restoring joyful, efficient movement. She has a particular interest in persistent pain, especially pain that appears or worsens with exercise, musculoskeletal injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation, movement efficiency and motor control, rebuilding confidence after injury or surgery, and helping people manage chronic health conditions through exercise.
She designs individualised, evidence-based exercise programs that can be delivered in the clinic, at the gym, or at home. Her approach places a strong emphasis on education, self-management, and giving people the confidence and skills to take an active role in their own recovery.
Sarah works collaboratively with each client to assess how well their body moves as a whole, identify barriers to movement, and develop sustainable exercise strategies that align with their goals and lifestyle. Her supportive, down-to-earth approach helps people regain confidence in their bodies, move with greater ease, and rediscover the joy of being active.
